Privacy Policy

Byron Web Studio (ABN: [your ABN]) collects and uses personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What we collect

From prospects we contact for outreach:

  • Publicly listed business information: name, address, phone number, business email address, website URL, opening hours
  • The contents of your website (publicly accessible pages we have visited and analysed)
  • Whether you opened our outreach email and clicked the included preview link

Sources: OpenStreetMap, Google Maps Places API, your publicly accessible website. We do not buy lists from third-party data brokers.

From customers who engage us:

  • Business information you provide via the intake form: business name, ABN, contact email, domain name, content destination email
  • Photos and copy you supply for your website
  • Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store your card details)

Why we collect it

  • To send a relevant, personalised outreach email about a website redesign service we believe is relevant to your business (Spam Act 2003 inferred-consent provision for B2B contact relating to your business function)
  • To build, deploy, and maintain your website if you become a customer
  • To meet our tax and accounting obligations (e.g. retaining records of the ABNs we have invoiced)

How we store and protect it

Information is stored on systems operated by reputable cloud providers (Vercel for the website, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Anthropic for LLM-assisted email triage). All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS / TLS) and at rest.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your rights

You can:

  • Unsubscribe from outreach at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or replying with "no". We honour unsubscribes immediately and add the address to a permanent suppression list.
  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you and your business.
  • Request correction of any inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information except where we are required to retain it for tax/legal reasons.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@byronwebstudio.com.au. We will respond within 14 days.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies for basic functionality (session, preferences) and minimal analytics (page views, referrer). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Email tracking

Outreach emails contain a small invisible tracking pixel that tells us whether the email was opened. The preview link in the email contains a tracking code that lets us see if it was clicked. This is standard for email marketing and does not collect any data beyond your interaction with our email.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at hello@byronwebstudio.com.au. If we cannot resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always at this URL. The "Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
